fields of study / plans the course is directly associated with
Course objectives
The aim of this course is to acquaint participants with the basic processing methods and types of polymeric materials that they will use in their own creation and work with various plastics in (not only school) practice. Part of each exercise will be the practical production of individual products according to the currently discussed polymer (thermoplastic, thermoset, elastomer)
Learning outcomes
The outputs of this course, which the participant will be able to apply after graduation, can include: - ability to recognize thermoplastic and thermoset, to be able to orientate in basic properties necessary for practical work with them - ability to orient in commonly available commercial products of specialized shops - to describe and apply individual processing methods (cutting, sawing, bending, casting, vacuuming, etc.) on a specific type of polymer - according to the studied materials and practical exercises to implement their own projects.
