- Course objectives (in Czech)
- This course will provide practical applications for English including speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Students will improve their facility with the language through discussions, exercises, assignments and presentations. The goal of this course is to maximize the use of English in both spoken and written forms through activities designed to give students a variety of formats for improving language skills. This course will also be an opportunity to explore various teaching techniques and ways to use a cultural context for facilitating language use.

- This class meets weekly. Each session will include a warm-up exercise, review of a workbook lesson, group activities, and a brief writing activity. Students will be assigned one written essay and an oral presentation for the semester. Articles will be posted on the Internet for supplemental reading. The course will cover the topics in Units 1-4 of New Progress to Proficiency.

- Assessment methods (in Czech)
- This course is based on 100 points that will be divided among the following activities: Class participation 26 points Reflection writing 24 points Essay 20 points Presentation 15 points Quizzes 15 points Total maximum 100 points A minimum achievement of 65% is required to sit the credit test. Minimum pass mark for the credit test is 65%.
