Course objectives
The course 'Gramatika A' focuses mainly on the practice of various grammatical aspects at advanced level. Nevertheless, its inseparable part is also theoretical background students should become familiar with, i.e. essential terminology connected with English language learning as well as teaching. As regards this, students will also be provided with useful tips how to teach grammar efficiently and in an interesting way. This term the following chapters (on the grounds of the book A Student's Grammar of the English Language by Sidney Greenbaum and Randolph Quirk) should be discussed: A general framework, Verbs and auxiliaries, The semantics of the verb phrase (except for modal auxiliaries).

Assessment methods (in Czech)
Requirements: required homework; active participation; revision test at the end of November; final written credit test at the end of winter term (passmark 65%) -tests will be based on the material covered in the course and they will comprise both theoretical as well as practical part
