Course objectives
The goal of the subject is to acquaint the students with the most important phases of the evolution of French literature in the course of 20th century. Attention is paid to the character of individual movements and the position of the French literature and literary science in a global context.
Syllabus
  • Survey of French literature from naturalism to the avant-garde of the beginning of 20th century: theory and practice of naturalism, decadence, other cursed poets, symbolism in poetry and drama, la Belle epoque, poets and novel-writes of the break of centuries, poetic avant-gardes.
