Course objectives
Translation Theory Seminar will focus on the traditional secondary literature and studies dealing with the English Czech translations.
Syllabus
  • We will cover the topics: * traditional translation methods * equivalence methods * history of translations (development of Shakespeare's translations) * tips and tricks

Continuous Assessment: * attendance (80%) * active participation Final Work: * analysis of a translated text - 500 words * or report of a translation published lately (500 words) Passmark: 70%
