Course objectives
The aim of this subject is to practise the pronunciation of German vowels, diphthongs and consonants. The practice of German phonemes missing in Czech is stressed. Special attention is paid to German stress and also to German reduction of unstressed syllables.
Syllabus
  • 1. German stress 2. Pronunciation practice of German phones with stress on phonemes missing in Czech 3. Reduction in German pronunciation 4. German assimilation in comparison with the Czech one 5. German intonation Seminar, compulsory subject, credit: Credit: The students are supposed to read a short text and to master German pronunciation. Each student leads and complements his own phonetic lexicon.

Assessment methods (in Czech)
Seminář, povinná výuka, zápočet; Zápočet: přednes krátkého textu, zvládnutí probraných jevů správné německé výslovnosti v segmentální rovině. Vypracování a průběžné doplňování vlastního fonetického slovníku. Studenti se při zápočtu vyjádří k jednomu z uvedených okruhů: 1. Jazykovědné disciplíny fonetika a fonologie, jejich stručná charakteristika a význam při studiu němčiny. 2. Tvoření řeči; stručný popis respiračního, fonačního a artikulačního ústrojí. 3. Klasifikace hlásek z hlediska fonetického i fonologického. 4. Systém německých vokálů, srovnání s českými vokály. 5. Systém německých diftongů. 6. Systém německých konsonantů; konsonanty závěrové, polozávěrové, úžinové. 7. Změny hlásek v proudu řeči; typy asimilací. 8. Členění fónických řad; slabika, slovo, věta. 9. Modulace fónických řad; kvantita, přízvuk, intonace. 10. Typické výslovnostní chyby českých rodilých mluvčích a metodika jejich odstraňování.
