Course objectives
The goal of the subject is acquiring the basic knowledge on the issues of general and French phonetics. The emphasis is given on understanding the ways and place of articulation of individual phones of French sound system, particularly the difficult ones for a Czech user. Mastering the system of the international phonetic transcription is also included. At the end of this course, students should be able to apply the acquiered knowledges and skills at the school.

Type of classwork: consultation. Workshop Ending: credit. Requirements for ending: meet the workshop requirements and the active participation (70%). Test (as a successful test is considered one with at least 70 % right answers).
