- Course objectives
- Greek mythology and its reflection in philosophy and arts. Greek mythology represents the most accessible collection of myths on which we can study not only the character of myth and the mythical thought, but also the sources of opinions, attitudes, subjects of art and poetical inspiration that are still found today.
- Syllabus
- Issues: 1. The oldest cultural history of Greece and birth of myths 2. Basic historical sources and authors 3. Hesiodos - Work and days 4. Homer - Ilias and Odyssey 5. Myths about the creation of the world and gods 6. The formation of the group of the Olympian gods 7. Myths about human creation 8. Basic and the most known mythical stories and motifs
