- Course objectives
- The seminar is intended to provide students with an outline of the post-November (1989) development of Czech prose. The main tendencies, layers and currents (e.g. authenticity or fantasy postmodern literature etc.) will be outlined, as well as monographical profiles of selected writers. Deeper insights will be put into practice through detailed analysis and interpretations. Students will also learn about the rich spectrum of secondary literature.

- 1. Problematics of diary and memoire literature in the 1990s. 2. Reflexion of a city chronotope. Reflecting the works of M. Ajvaz, D. Hodrová , J. Kratochvil a J. Topol. 3. The maze of mysteries and secrets: R. Ludva, M. Urban, J. Jandourek, V. Vokolek. 4. Three attempts at "normalizational" anamnesis: M. Viewegh, H. Daněk, B. Vaněk-Úvalský. 5. Bound by a lyrical utterance: P. Brycz, J. Vrak, J. Balabán. 6. Between originality and manner: V. Kahuda a E. Hakl. 7. Contemporary women prose: Over the works of A. Berková a I. Dousková.
