Course objectives
At the end of this course the student will be able to understand and explain basic concepts of the following topics: Introduction to propositional logic, sets and operations with sets, binary relations and their properties, views, natural numbers. This knowledge will be able to apply in achieving the Framework Educational Program for Pre-school education in the development of cognitive abilities in mathematics.
Syllabus
  • Development of sensory perception, the transition from illustration thinking to   thinking verbally logical, the development of memory and attention, the development of imagination, all focusing on the development of mathematical ideas and concepts. Creating pre-numerical mathematical ideas. Sets of objects, sorting by various relevant criteria, matching, order. Basic sets terms. Basic concepts of propositional logic. Activities to   development of mathematical concepts and their practical use. Preparing to   understanding and creating the concept of natural numbers. Drawing the concept of natural numbers, the basic relations, in particular, views, equivalence and order.
