Course objectives
At the end of this course student should be able to: understand and be able to give insight intu the following concepts and problems: Conic sections such as planar and rotating conical surfaces as sets of points in the Euclidean plane defined by the distance. Surface of the second degree - quadrics. Rotational quadrics, other quadratic surfaces. Complex extension of affine space, projective extension of affine space. Quadratic form and its relationship with the equation conics and quadrics. Projective, affine and metric properties of conics and quadrics.
Syllabus
  • Conic sections such as planar and rotating conical surfaces as sets of points in the Euclidean plane defined by the distance.
