Course objectives
The following chapters are discussed in the seminar: Lexicology and word-formation, word-formation procedure, compound words and their correspondences (phrases and/or sentences), derivation, shortening, diminutives and gender, so that the students can see and explain the whole word-formation system of German and partially Czech. Hence they can compare and explain the differences between both systems at the end of the course.

Final written test at the end of the term in theory and practical usage of word-formations; a presentation of a paper is required for admission to the exam
