- Course objectives
- After completing the series of lectures the students should be able to gain basic knowledge of German phonetics and phonology and formulate differences between German and Czech pronunciation.
- Syllabus
- 1. Phonetics and phonology and their importance for learners 2. Voice formation 3. Classification of speech sounds 4. German vowels 5. German diphthongs 6. German consonants 7. Assimilation 8. Syllable, word, sentence 9. Quantity, stress, intonation 10. Typical pronunciation mistakes of Czech native speakers

- Lectures; We divide the fundamentals of phonetics and phonology into 10 topics. For each topic we provide examples of a correct German pronunciation.
