Course objectives
Improvement of Russian pronunciation by means of various oral exercises, audio recordings. Transcription.
Syllabus
  • 1. Pronunciation. Basic rhythmical units. Training of rhythm. 2. Pronunciation of unstressed vowels A, O and their transcription. Reduction. 3. Bases of transcription of ja, jo, ju, je. 4. Transcription of strong and weak (stressed and unstressed) forms. 5. Pronunciation of hard consonants ž, š, c. 6. Pronunciation of soft consonants č, šč. Short texts reading, rhythm and melody training.

Teaching methods
Student must actively participate in the class, prepare regulary home assignments. Reading and listening russian texts.
Assessment methods
To obtain the credit, the student must also actively participate in the class (two absences within a semester are tolerated), prepare regularly for the lessons and do the required home assignments. Test at the end of course based on the work done in the class.
