Course objectives
The course is designed to enhance students' skills in general English with particular stress on speaking and listening by means of systematic in-class input (vocabulary and grammar extension) and sufficient practice (pair/group/class discussions, role-plays, listening tasks, grammar/vocabulary exercises etc.). Particular attention will be payed to areas, which are commonly neglected in secondary/language schools ("abstract" and "practical" vocabulary, collocations, common idioms, phrasal verbs, advanced grammar structures and correct pronunciation and intonation.) Students will use a great variety of materials, available either in "Studijní materiály" in the IS or in a photocopiable form.
