- Course objectives
- After completing this seminar the students should be able to interpret differences in pronunciation between German and Czech vowels and diphthongs and characterize typical pronunciation mistakes made by Czech native speakers.
- Syllabus
- 1. Pronunciation practice of German vowels and diphthongs with stress on phonemes missing in Czech 2. German stress 3. Reduction in German pronunciation 4. Work on vocabulary and grammar in the textbook Německy s úsměvem nově from the phonetic point of view 5. Grammar revision and pronunciation practice (Lesson 1-4) 6. Leading and complementing of a phonetic lexicon

- Teaching methods
- Seminar; practice of pronunciation of German vowels and diphthongs, active participation in class along with consistent home practice. Specific part of this education is creating of an own phonetic vocabulary.

- Fulfilling requirements; the students are supposed to read a short German text with emphasis on correct German pronunciation.
