- Course objectives
- Students will develop all four skills, reading, listening, speaking and writing, for better communication. As they are expected to be on the upper-intermediate level, they will work on extending the range and accuracy of the language as well as the register. At the end of the course (i.e. after 3 semesters of the Practical Language course) they are expected to achieve CAE level (according to the Common European Framework of Reference it is C1 level).
- Syllabus
- The students will cover U1-5 from the book Inside Out Upper Intermediate (see Literature below). Other additional materials will be used to support and further develop the topics and content of the corresponding units.

- Teaching methods
- Students will work in learning centers, do independent work outside of class using e-learning and also extensive reading.
- Assessment methods
- Attendance is important but it is not required. If you miss a class you have to do all the work assigned on your own.
The general pass mark for this course is 70%.
The credit test will consist of evaluation of the students grammar and vocabulary based on the course book as well as general reading and listening sections. The requirements are specified in detail in the moodlinka course. - Language of instruction
