Course objectives
Students should acquire the basics of syntax in literary Russian by the means of comparing Czach and Russian. Students should acquire the knowledge of simple and compound sentences pattern.
Syllabus
  • The subject of syntax. Syntactical units and their relations in sentence. Classification. Simple sentence. Complex and compound sentence. One-element and two-element sentences (minor and major clauses). SV sentence and SVOC sentence. One-element sentences. Main sentence elements. Nominative and its formulation.Formulation of predicate. Attributive predicate. Apposition. Object. Direct and indirect object. Complement. Adverbials and modes of expression.
