- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is on the one hand to revise, systematize and deepen the basic knowledge of German, which the participants acquired in prior education, on the other hand to introduce them to the new learning environment at the university, in particular to autonomous learning. At the end of the course students should be able to:
- work with authentic German language material in both written and spoken form,
- work autonomously using the common resources as grammars, textbooks, dictionaries etc.,
- employ different learning strategies to enlarge (without tutorial directives) their vocabulary and grammatical knowledge,
- to express themselves about their biography, their special interests, their feelings and needs,
- to follow everyday conversations and to take an active part in them. - Syllabus
- The class is based on unit 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the textbook "Sicher! B1+". Special topics are
- introducing oneself,
- expressing ones feelings,
- conversation among neighbours,
- coping with conflicts in everyday life.
- Activities in class or at home include
- working out vocabulary lists to specific texts,
- writing a detailed travell report in German,
- making up dialogs in accordance with the situation under discussion.

- A certificate (zápocet) can be acquired on the basis of a written test at the end of the term. During the term, different homework might be required. Class attendance is compulsory. No more than three classes may be missed.
