Course objectives
The aim of the course phonetics and phonology is a theoretical knowledge of the phonetics of Russian language and also in terms of graphic comparison of Czech-Russian plan. Another objective of the course is to acquaint students with the terminology and the terms of the area. Emphasis is also placed on the characteristics of Russian pronunciation.
Syllabus
  • The content of the subject was included in the following topics: 1st The subject of phonetics. Phonetics and phonology. 2nd Articulatory phonetics. Vocal cords. The speech apparatus. 3rd Making voice and the criteria for classification. Consonants. Vowels. 4th Elements of a phonetic system. Suprasegmental and segmental features. 5th Suprasegmental features. Dynamics, rhythm, melody. Differences in comparison with the language. 6th Intonational structures 1 to 7 7th Accent. Types of stress. City accent 8th Reduction. Basic reduction position 9th Tact. Rising and falling melody. 10th Segmental features. Vowels and consonants - the position of acoustic, articulatory and functional. 11th Vowels. Distribution of vowels. Labializace. 12th Consonants. Pronunciation, distribution according to different criteria. 13th Assimilation, dissimilation, diereza, orthoepy and orthography.

Teaching methods
Teaching will take the form of 8 contact hours and 4 hours non-contact. Contactless hours will be used to study literature and the addition of further information.
Assessment methods
The course is concluded with an oral examination of the knowledge acquired. In the evaluation, emphasis is placed not only on knowledge but also the correct Russian pronunciation.
