- Prerequisites
- A pass in SZ3BP_1AB1. The intermediate student (Level B1) can understand the main ideas of texts on both concrete and abstract topics, including special discussions in his/her field of specialisation. The student can interact with partners without strain for either party, can produce a short writing on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

- The course is only offered to the students of the study fields the course is directly associated with.

- At the end of the course students should be able to read and interpret short texts related to their field of study, give a short oral presentation on the subject of his/her study with appropriate B1 vocabulary and grammar range. In order to be credited, the student must submit all set home assignments, give in-class oral presentation/interview, and succeed (70 % pass) in the final B1 credit test (vocabulary, grammar).

- Practical language lessons, group discussions, pyramide discussions, reading and speaking, presentations, home assignments
- Assessment methods
- Examination requirements: 1)Active participation in seminars, 2) Attendance (2 absences admitted), 2) Careful preparation for each seminar 3) Oral presentation, 4)Written task, 5)Mid-term test -(grammar + vocabulary) 5) Final credit test (listening, reading, grammar, vocabulary, passmark - 70%) The student who has not completed continuous assessment and all the requirements (including active participation) during the particular semester cannot be credited!
