- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students will be able not only to understand setting of the origin of the Scripture and handing over of the religious traditions of Israel and the early Church but also on the basis of the acquired knowledge to explain the query of Canon, inspiration and the question of the veracity of the Scripture, to describe the history of exegesis and the interpretation of the Scripture in the Church, and to inform about the main Church documents related to biblical studies.
- Syllabus
- Key concepts and terms, the origin of the Scripture, the handing over of the religious traditions of Israel and the early Church, biblical languages, the formation of biblical canon and the history of the text, Canon, apocrypha, inspiration, the question of the veracity of the Scripture, the history of exegesis and the interpretation of the Scripture in the Church, relevant Church documents.
