Course objectives
At the end of the course, students would have developed their English language abilities to the B2 level. Students should be able to speak about general subjects, asking and answering questions in English. Students should also be able to read a book or article at the corresponding language level and explain the main ideas.
Syllabus
  • The syllabus includes: speaking activities reading comprehension writing narratives listening comprehension
  • interaction. Students will participate in weekly activities and complete work outside of class in the coursebook and on Moodlinka.
  • New English File Upper-Intermediate, Unit 6 and 7
  • Grammar: articles, uncountable and plural nouns, quantifiers, structures after wish, clauses of contrast and purpose, relative clauses

Teaching methods
Small group, learning centers, whole class, face-to-face and e-learning
Assessment methods
Students have to pass 2 short credit tests (70%) focused on the vocabulary and grammar covered during the term, prepare a short presentation on the topic covered, contribute to moodlinka forum at least 5 times per semester, work on moodlinka course regularly and submit an essay. During final oral exam they prove their overall grammar and vocabulary knowledge (70%. Students have to prepare for lessons throughout the whole term and do homework for each lesson, which is the base for their active participation in the seminars. Most of the work is based on students' self-study.
