- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students should be able to understand the system of German verb forms, they can use the regular and irregular verbs. They are able to determine the tense forms and to use the active and passive forms. They understand the modality and the conditional. An important part is also theoretical background students should become familiar with, essential terminology connected with German language learning as well as teaching.

- - syntactic classification and morphological correlates,
- - semantic classification and selection of auxiliaries,
- - modals and their functions,
- - synthetic and periphrastic forms,
- - mood system (conjunctive and imperative),

- Regular attendance is not requested, but the items of the lectures are a part of the written exam at the end of the spring term. A minimum of 60 % is needed to pass the exam.
