Course objectives
Introduction to Cultural Studies: at the end of the course students should be able to understand the introduction to the general theory of culture and classification of basic knowledge about a culture.
Syllabus
  • General cultural theory. Methods of research of cultural phenomena. Clasification of knowledge of culture. Basis of culture. Development of educational activities in Czech Republic. Mutual relation between culture and civilization. Mass culture. Human ecology. Creativity and art. Cultural typology. Axiological approach. Postmodern culture in post-industrial society. Sociotechnology and conformity.
