- Good knowledge of Czech (at least High School Certificate or CEFR C1); good knowledge of German - at least first level exam (after the 2nd term).

- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students should be able to: understand and explain the basic terminology of translation studies and create coherent and proper translation into the contemporary Czech using: intersemiotic, intralingual, explaining balanced as well as gist translations.
