- Course objectives
- The course objective is to introduce the literary and theoretical basics needed for students´own interpretation and analysis of literature for children and young adults as well as for their further studies of literary history. Students will be able to interpret a literary text independently. They will also be able to apply the terminology of literary science.
- Syllabus
- 1. Literature of the branch. 2. Classification of literature and literary science, basic terminology of literary science. 3. Literature and other written products, national and world literature. 4. Structure of a literary work, models of composition, characters, narrator. 5. Author and recipient of a literary work and their relation. 6. Introduction to the theory of verse. 7. Prosodic systems, rhythm and rhyme. 8. Linguistic means of a literary work I. 9. Linguistic means of a literary work II. 10. Literary types and genres. 11. Specifics of young adult literature. 12. Genre composition of young adult literature.
