Course objectives
The attention is focused on the practice of theoretical knowledge about Russian morphological system. The seminar is closely linked with the course MSBP_RPG1. At the end of this course the student will be able to identify basic grammatical features of nouns and adjectives; to perform comparative linguistic analysis; to use nouns and adjectives in written and oral expression correctly.

  • 1. Nouns first inflection at   sg. Practice, assigning to patterns.
  • 2. Nouns first inflection at   sg. Practice, assigning to patterns. Variations in sg.
  • 3. Nouns first inflection at pl. Practice, assigning to patterns. Variations in pl. First inflection.
  • 4. Revision: the first noun inflection in the singular and plural.
  • 5. The second declension of nouns.
  • 6. The second declension of nouns. Variations in the second inflection.
  • 7. The third declension nouns.
  • 8. Revision: noun second and third inflection.
  • 9. Adjectives and their characteristics. Internal lexical-semantic classification of adjectives.
  • 10. Morphological categories of adjectives: paradigmatics, name and compound shapes.
  • 11. Morphological categories of adjectives: paradigmatics, comparison category of adjectives. Accent and spelling of adjectives.

Teaching methods
Students work up homework and within an individual work they elaborate lexical excercises and essays during the study. Students work individually and they also cooperate in group projects. They continuously read Russian texts.
Assessment methods
Requirement: 1. Practical use of terminology and theoretical knowledge acquired through self-study in the framework of the course   RGR1. 2. Homework. 3. Encompassment of written final test (75%).
