Course objectives
At the end of the course students will be able to discuss the conversational topics; to apply acquired knowledge about grammar and vocabulary to communicate in Russian language.
Syllabus
  • Into the contentual part of the subject have been inserted these basic conversational topics: 1. School, school system in our country and in Russia. 2. High school education. Structure of study. 3. Art in the young men life. 4. Music. 5. Theatre. 6. Cinema.

Teaching methods
Active work in seminars, fulfilling given tasks, autonomous working with press and internet, reading and listening in Russian language recommended.
Assessment methods
Written test based on the topics taught in the class (at least 75% is needed to pass). If the student reaches the pass mark in the written test, a discussion with the teacher will be held. The discussion will be based on the topics from the course, the reading (Russian book – 350 p.), the student will bring and show the book, and listening (audio, video, DVD). The correct grammar, content,vocabulary used, as well as pronunciation and intonation will be evaluated. The student will also provide a vocabulary exercise book, which will contain at least fifty new words.
