Course objectives
Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with the current knowledge about the problems of individual communication abilities - definition, etiology, classification and symptomatology and other important themes of speech therapy (legislation, possibilities of interdisciplinary cooperation, logopedical intervention system etc.). Outputs expected:  the student is oriented in the systematization of impaired communication skills;  is oriented in current legislation related to the provision of speech therapy intervention;  is ready for further education and development of competencies in the field of speech therapy;  it is oriented in current professional literature of Czech provenance, in foreign by choice.
Syllabus
  • The theoretical framework of speech therapy, a logopedic intervention system in the Czech Republic and selected European countries; Current legislation.  Ontogenesis of children's speech, psychomotor development.  Disturbed communication ability - delimitation and classification.  Disrupted speech development and its category. Specifically impaired speech development - delineation, etiology, classification, and symptomatology.  Dissolution of speech articulation - dysplasia, dysarthria - delineation, etiology, classification and symptomatology.  Disturbance of fluence of speech - balbuties, tumultus sermonis - delimitation, etiology, classification and symptomatology.  Disturbance of speech sound - rhinolia, palatolalia - delineation, etiology, classification and symptomatology.  Neurogenic communication disorders - aphasia - defining, etiology, classification and symptomatology.  Psychogenic communication disorders - mutism - delineation, etiology, classification and symptomatology.  Disturbance of speech graphic - specific learning disorders - delineation, etiology, classification and symptomatology.  Voice disorders for speech therapists - definition, etiology, classification and symptomatology. Voice hygiene.  Disrupted communication skills in people with disabilities, secondary speech disorders.
