Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of the field of inorganic nature at the level of the BIp002 and BIp004 courses.
Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The student will be able to assign samples to specific minerogenesis and petrogenetic processes. The student describes the principle of the most common geological processes and finds their examples within the geological structure of the Bohemian Massif. He selects appropriate examples of minerals, rocks and geological processes for teaching at elementary school.
Syllabus
  • 1. Rock-forming minerals of the magmatic process 2. Rock-forming minerals of various types of metamorphic rocks 3. Weathering of minerals and genesis of sedimentary rocks 4. Processes and major types of mineral deposits 5. Basic geomorphological shapes of magmatic and volcanic bodies 6. Geomorphological shapes of the weathering processes 7. Recent sediments 8. Soil formation and main soil-forming processes 9. Hydrosphere and its basic interaction on the Earth's surface 10. Radioactivity of the rock environment and radon risk 11. Influence of human activity on the geological environment 12. The rock environment of the Czech Republic
