Course objectives
The seminary is based on training of the application of knowledge that the students have won at theoretical lecture to the practical analysis. Fundamental terminology: word, its form and semantic meaning, characteristic marks of the word; lexical units (formed of one or more components), phrase; classification of the Czech vocabulary form various points of view. How to use the lexicon. Lexical analysis of texts and of isolated lexical units.
Learning outcomes
The student understands the terms the word, its form and meaning, the words of the word; lex (single and multiple), phrasem; knows different ways of classifying vocabulary; is working with language dictionaries. The student is able to actively analyze the texts, discuss the professional problems of the subject.

  • Lexikology as linguistic discipline. Parts of lexikology. Lexical system. Methods of lexikology. Word - sign - semantics of words. Lexicon of Czech language. Lexical analysis at schools.

Teaching methods
Discussion, active analytical work of the students in the analysis of texts, discussions on technical issues subject presentation housework.
Assessment methods
Seminar, credit. To pass the course successfully, it is necessary to complete a written exam in the form of a test, 80 % of the total score is the minimum range.
