Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the possible use of new knowledge in the field of socio-cultural and managerial skills in terms of schools and educational institutions in the Czech Republic. After completing the course students will have basic knowledge of socio-cultural and managerial skills in practice, schools and educational institutions in the Czech Republic. Students will be able to identify new findings in the field of socio-cultural and managerial skills applicable in terms of schools and educational institutions in the Czech Republic.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students should know and be able to:
- Students will acquire basic knowledge of socio-cultural and managerial skills
- Student will be familiarized with managerial competencies in terms of schools and school facilities
- The student will learn the basics of managerial skills
- Student will be acquainted with professional literature on socio-cultural and managerial skills
- Student will be able to use tools in socio-cultural and managerial skills
- Student will be able to use the basic tools of managerial skills in school practice
- The student will have a positive attitude towards socio-cultural and managerial skills

  • 1) The first self-reflection, self-discovery and learning about others.
  • 2) Content and importance of the development of socio-cultural and managerial skills.
  • 3) Communication skills of manager.
  • 4) Verbal communication.
  • 5) Principles of correct reasoning.
  • 6) Assertiveness as a strategy for negotiations.
  • 7) Personality of leading manager.
  • 8) Image of leading manager.
  • 9) Time management, stress management.
  • 10) Leadership, work motivation.
  • 11) Working meeting as a tool for direct communication with the people.
  • 12) Teamwork, rules of successful negotiations with people.

Teaching methods
The course consits of a self-preparation done by student at home and a consultation held at the faculty. For each consultation student is obliged to review given topics (theoretical preparation). In the class the information is delivered in the form of a lecture joined with discussions or solving a case study.
