- Course objectives
- At the end of tuition students have extensive knowledge about phonetics and morphology of German language from the diachronic point of view. Students are able to classify historical texts into particular development stages according to their characteristic phonic and morphological features. Students are able to explain irregularities in phonetics and morphology of current German on basis of gained knowledge of historical language development.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of tuition students have knowledge about territorial and time classification of German. They are able to match particular development stages of German language with the most important phonic and morphological features.
- Syllabus
- Development of consonants from old German language till today. Development of German declination. Development of conjugation of German verbs. Creation of middle-upper-German equivalents to selected middle-upper-German forms. Creation of early-new-upper-German equivalents to selected middle-upper-German forms. Significant literary works of each development period of German language.
