Course objectives
The main goals of the course: • understanding of the dynamics of development of the western societies • active ecquirment and usage of the basics sociological terminology • nderstanding of the late modern globalizing societies
Learning outcomes
- to familiarize with the basic terminology - to understand the basic affinities - to apply knowledge on real life events and to analyze them
Syllabus
  • Delimination of the subject and basic functions of sociology. • Basic sociological terms. • Society, conditions of the social life. • Sociology - the time of the birth, transition of the traditional to the modern society. • Traditional society - the close reflection. • Modern society - changes on the level of primary groups, of social status/class, production, market... • Information / reflexive society - globalization, risk society, reflexive modernization. • Dynamics of the Czech society.
