- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to make a series of short videos for children with autism spectre disorder according to the parents´ instructions. Students consult with child´s parents the state of the child, his interests, stereotyped behaviour, worries and together they try to create the most suitable concept. Then the students work in teams, make short videos in household of the family or other places. The video clip is then edited by the students and given to the parents, who present the video to their child. A feedback is required and then passed to the students to further consultation and another video clip can be made. Students divide the roles: consulting with parents, role play according to the scenario, video editing, costumes making. The lecturer contacts families suitable for the project, explains the strategies and alternative techniques and guarantees the students´ activities.
- Learning outcomes
- Student will be able to: 1) create an audiovisual aid for children with ASD 2) to name the specifics of work with children with ASD 3) Communicate with parents of children with ASDents of children with ASD
- Syllabus
- 1. Meeting the child and the parents 2. Introduction of child´s personality, interests, stereotyped behaviour, affects starters, communication, worries 3. Choice of suitable strategy for the child, making of the costumes, scenario and roles preparation, making the video clip, its editing. 4. The video clip is given to the parents, feedback expected. 5. Reflective meeting of students and ideally with the parents, too, evaluation, outline of further video project
