Course objectives
The aim of the course is to make a series of short videos for children with autism spectre disorder according to the parents´ instructions. Students consult with child´s parents the state of the child, his interests, stereotyped behaviour, worries and together they try to create the most suitable concept. Then the students work in teams, make short videos in household of the family or other places. The video clip is then edited by the students and given to the parents, who present the video to their child. A feedback is required and then passed to the students to further consultation and another video clip can be made. Students divide the roles: consulting with parents, role play according to the scenario, video editing, costumes making. The lecturer contacts families suitable for the project, explains the strategies and alternative techniques and guarantees the students´ activities. The work on the creation of motivational videos for children with ASD is mainly individual - the possibility of filming videos as part of seminars or in the child's home environment. The student (in the costume of a fairy-tale character) can also be in contact with the child "online" through video calls and work with the child regularly.

After completing the course, the student will be able to:
1) name the specifics of working with children with ASD, identify and summarize important features of individuals with autism spectrum disorder
2) communicate with parents of children with ASD, analyze and propose appropriate activities for a specific child with ASD
3) suggest suitable therapies to parents or teaching staff that would help children with ASD in acquiring new skills - ABA therapy, Son rise, Play Wisely, sensory learning and play, Denny's method (primarily familiarize them with the effectiveness of the above methods), determine and describe current domestic and foreign trends in therapies suitable for children with ASD
4) create audiovisual aids for children with ASD, create educational aids for children with ASD – for playing, learning, learning basic hygiene needs, aids based on structured learning – daily schedule, weekly schedule, activity structure, communication diary, AAK application ( augmentative and alternative communication)
5) analyze the behavior and actions of a child with ASD based on documented communication with his parents and subsequently propose an individualized plan and compile a schedule of individual motivational videos and determine their focus and goals.
