- Course objectives
- Students get the information about specifics of visually impaired - the psychological issues and education, they get also a background in basic methods of intervention, communication and special aids.
- Learning outcomes
- Students should be able to:
- interpret their knowledge in the field of counseling and legislation;
- diagnose the needs of pupils and students with a certain degree of visual impairment and to design adequate teaching strategies, to identify and remove possible obstacles to the learning process;
- will be focused on the use of special teaching and compensatory aids;
- will be able to communicate and accompany with people with severe visual impairment at a professional level. - Syllabus
- • Education of visually impaired, terminology. • Psychical developement in people with severe visual impairment. Classroom experience in group with a visually impaired member(s). • Intervention in people who become visually impeired. Support of the family. • Support of authonomy in people with congenital visual impairment. Cooperation with the family. • Pupils and students with severe visual impairment (developement, diagnostics, communication, special aids). • The significance of early intervention in sight and psychomotor development in visually impaired. • Diagnostics in the field of special education. • Didactic methods, forms and learning experience in visually impaired • Special non-optical aids in education of visually impaired. • Communication with people with severe visual impairments, mobility. • Guiding people with severe visual impairments. Counselling and intervention in children and pupils with visual impairment. • Secondary schools and life-long education of visually impaired. Employment possibilities. • Significance of social rehabilitation in education of pupils and students with visual impairment. Identification and removing of barriers in educational process. • Educational setting and supporting provision in pupils with severe visual impairment.
