- Course objectives
- Didactics of Geography 3 deals with the theoretical and practical issues of the didactics of other geographical disciplines. Its aim is to apply acquired geographical and general teaching knowledge and skills into specific teaching units of a geography curriculum of primary school pupils. Students will learn the basics of making a geography curriculum of selected thematic units.
- Learning outcomes
- - Describe different approaches to pupil assessment; - Create a one-year timetable for pupil appraisal; - make a detailed preparation for geography teaching for one quarter; - Set up a quarterly test that will include a whole range of tasks ranging from simple to open tasks of greater difficulty; - apply general geographic disciplines to regional geography; - compare approaches to geography teaching of selected countries - USA, France; - Explain the role of concepts for geographic education.

Student and learning in geography, assessment of pupil learning and its quality - different ways of pupil learning; - independent learning - individual journey; - working with talented pupils - geographic competition; - testing and perspective; - scale evaluation, verbal evaluation; 2. Principles for geographic curriculum development in socio-economic geography: - spiral model of geographic curriculum development - demographic transition model; - population and settlements; - agriculture; - from the industry; - transport and communications; - z services; - political geography; 3. Geographical Education Standards - Comparison of Expected Outputs in the RDPs and geographic standards of the United States.
