Course objectives
The objective of the seminar is to familiarize students with the possibilities of playing the keyboards, to encourage creative work for arranging songs in modern popular style for the needs of music teachers in elementary and secondary schools, to develop the player skills for this type of musical instrument.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will get the basics of the keyboard playing.
The student will be able to master the basic functions of the CASIO and YAMAHA keyboard and to use these instruments in school music education.
Students will learn creative ways of arranging work with modern popular songs.
Syllabus
  • The basic user's operation of Casio/Yamaha keyboard.
  • The use of standard and extra functions of the instrument (e.g. selecting a sound register and rhythmic accompaniment, tuning tools, transposition, MODE, SPLIT, LAYER, MEMORY functions).

Teaching methods
Type of education: drills, homeworks. Theoretical and practical knowledge of basic operation with keyboard instrument.
Assessment methods
Colloquium. The student will play 3 songs of a different rhythmic style of an accompaniment.
