Course objectives
Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to acquaint participants with ethical and professional standards, which are based on international rules for responsible behavioral analysts defined in the Code of Ethics for Behavior Analysts. The course will also present and analyze everyday ethical challenges in behavioral analyst practice and their correct solution.
Furthermore, the course focuses on a detailed analysis of the ethical and responsible behavioral behavioral behavioral analysts defined in the Code of Ethics for Behavioral Analysts. Applicants will be familiar with how the patient's/client's behavior may be subject to behavioral intervention, and which may not be subject to intervention. The course will also focus on responsible behavioral analyst behavior towards patients/clients, legal representatives, family, other professionals, and society as a whole.
Learning outcomes
The graduate knows and can act according to ethical standards of non-medical health professions and the moral code of behavioral analysts (Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts). Can explain what is the content of a responsible behavioral analyst and behavioral analyst assistant to patients/clients and other stakeholders. The graduate knows the rights of patients and the duties of medical staff. Can describe and reflect situations where ethical rules can be violated and can suggest ways to resolve ethical or professional conflicts.
The graduate of the course knows in detail the ethical standards of non-medical health professions and the moral code of behavioral analysts (Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts). He/she can explain what the content of a responsible behavioral analyst and behavioral analyst assistant to patients/clients and other stakeholders is. He/she knows the rights of patients and duties of medical staff in its complexity. He/she can describe and reflect situations where ethical rules can be violated and can suggest ways to resolve ethical or professional conflicts. He/she can evaluate the moral aspects of the consequences of initiating an individual behavioral program, ethical issues of measurement and choice of experimental design, the possibility of role and position conflicts in cooperation with client/patient, his/her family and other professionals. It recognizes and evaluates whether the behavioral change program is consistent with the best interests of the individual, his family, and the community.

  • Introduction to ethical and professional standards, right to effective intervention, right to effective education, general introduction to ethics
  • Ethical aspects of the non-medical profession
  • Basic ethical principles, the most common ethical issues of an everyday ethical challenge
  • Patients' rights, rights, and duties of medical staff
  • Professional Disciplinary and Ethical Standards of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), Responsible Behavior of Behavioral Technician towards Patient/Clients and other interested parties
  • Convention on Human Rights and Biomedicine.
  • Responsibility of behavioral analysts to clients, patients, colleagues, and the workplace
  • Ethical aspects of behavioral evaluation and behavior selection for intervention
  • Behavioral analyst and individual behavior change program
  • Behavioral analyst as educator, clinic, and supervisor
  • Ethical responsibility of behavioral analyst in science and the use of evidence-based interventions
  • The moral responsibility of behavioral analyst towards society
  • Perform risk and benefit analysis before the behavioral intervention
