- Course objectives
- The goal of the subject is: Introduce students with the amateur theater scene and the process of creating a theater performance with a non-professional group.
- Learning outcomes
- Learning outcomes: To have an overview in amateur theater shows. Analyze and reflect on theater performances of non-professional groups. Adapt any text to a theatrical scenario. Create a theatrical production with a non-professional group.
- Syllabus
- Students will visit selected theater shows of the amateur theater and they will participate in analyzes of individual performances as a part of the shows. Furthermore, students themselves will go through the process of creating a theatrical performance, which will be divided into several phases. The first phase bears the name "Harmonization", and it consists of necessary exercises to tune the group so they can work together. The second phase is titled Theme and Story. At this stage, exercises and techniques aim to find a theme or a masterpiece that we process into a structured scenario. The third phase ''Aid to an amateur actor'' deals with all sorts of theatrical means that help the amateur actor to perform convincingly. The fourth phase, ''The Rehersal'', focuses on fixation of the theatrical formation. The fifth phase is ''The Perfomance'' and its reflection. The output of this subject is a performance for the public. The goal is for the students to verify their work on the stage. Students will visit selected theater shows of the amateur theater (3 times half day) and participate in the analyzes of individual perfomances as a part of the shows. The student will choose any text and adapt it for the stage. Minimum 5 pages. The output of the course is a performance for the public, which the students will realize 1-3 times.
