Course objectives
"Voluntaree is not a sacrifice, but natural display of civil maturity. It brings a concrete help to the one, who needs it, but in the same time it provides to volunteer a feeling of meaningfulness, it is a source of new experiencies and skills and it enriches interpersonal relationships."
Learning outcomes
Students meet in the frame of the subject voluntaree work and various areas of it is province. A part of the subject is methodical work with voluntarees, creating of presentation focused on recruitement of volunteers, on their leading and activation in some organisation.
Syllabus
  • 1.Basic issues: Civil Society and Volunteering, types and forms of volunteering, practical experience. 2.Volunteering in the Czech Rep. and in the world: practical experience of volunteering abroad 3.The interesting forms of volunteering: self-advocacy, corporate volunteering. Organizations working with volunteers in the Czech Rep.. 4.Students presentation: Volunteering in the health care, volunteering in social services, volunteering in the cultural area, volunteering in sport, volunteering with children and youth, volunteering in ecology. The students can use personal experiences of their volunteering.

Assessment methods
Students will focus on in the field of voluntary work that will be studied theoretically and practically. The output will be formed by a presentation covering the field of voluntary work.
