- Course objectives
- At the end of this course the student will be able to :;
(1) to perform common activities related to the care of the garden in autumn
(2) conducting phenological observations in the autumn and winter months
(3) prepare a thematic teaching in the school garden oriented on the use of practical skills (autumn vegetables and fruits in the fall, field crops in the fall)
(4) to design and realize simple thematic arrangement from commonly available natural products with pupils - Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course students will be able to: • - characterize the school garden as a comprehensive educational environment and propose its use for teaching in the course of autumn and winter months • - perform phenological observations of model plants during the autumn and winter months. • - to grow selected plants with pupils of the first grade of primary school in the bed and in the alternative environment during the school year • - take care of houseplants at school, taking into account possible security risks • - distinguish and use professional and user terms in the field of botany and zoology • - compare health aspects and principles of growing healthy food (bio) versus traditional agricultural and vegetable production • - apply safety and hygiene regulations to activities such as tasting, handling, etc.

- Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes: Credit is a prerequisite for active participation in seminars, submission of seminar papers (simple thematic arranging) or attendance at the second VP Vegetable and test for indoor plants.

- The PdF MU Garden "Kejbaly" is located at the University Campus Brno-Bohunice, street Vinohrady 100.
• You can reach the garden by bus line 61 (eg at Křídlovická stop - next to Ronda). You have to get off at KAMENICE !!!
• Another option is to come by car, if you choose this option, look in the search engine (www.mapy.cz) how to get to us. It is ideal to come from the campus and park above the staircase to the garden. The garden itself is in the entrance ban. If you are caught by officers, brand your student card and go to the faculty garden (but you may still get a fine).
