- Course objectives
- Creation of system of skills and habits in singing technique. Methodical basis for pedagogical work with child and adult voice. Study materials - czech folk songs, child songs, czech and world nonartificial and artificial music. At the end of this course student should be able to play the piano and sing vocal technique exercises simultaneously and must be able to apply theoretical and practical knowledge in singing technique to his repertoire.
- Learning outcomes
- Student: controls basic procedures for working with child's voice and principles of voice hygiene; he/she has adopted proper singing habits; he/she knows exercises to induce the head tone and is able to apply it in practice; he/she can create voice exercises and accompany them playing the piano.
- Syllabus
- Introduction. Choosing literature to study. Fixation of the costal-diaphragm type of breathing. Singing exercises. The importance of the warm-up exercises. Exercises to start a tone of the head register. Practising tone of the head register. Practising singing legato. Practising a proper formation of a tone. Pronunciation of vocals in the middle range. Linking consonants and vocals. Improving the pronunciation of consonants. Stabilization and extending the vocal range. Voice technical singing exercises for improving tone culture and musical expression. Practising repertoire – folk songs, musicals, artificial songs etc. Prevention of voice disorders and practical recommendation.

- Type: Exercises Credit: Transposition of various types of voice exercises with own piano accompaniment in diatonic and chromatic scale. Practical vocal presentation of 20 compulsory songs with own piano accompaniment. Basic knowledge of the voice hygiene. 80% attendance is necessary for giving course-unit credit.
