Course objectives
This subject describes the field of German stylistics and compares German stylistic means with the Czech ones. The students should be able to perform stylistic analysis on various German texts, they are able to compare the German stylistic means with the Czech ones and they should be able to produce stylistically coherent texts of chosen German text types.

  • Stylistics and the philology
  • History of the stylistic research
  • Macro-stylistic characteristics (form and content)
  • Micro-stylistic elements (phonetic, morphological, syntactic and lexical stylemes)
  • Stylistic features of German texts (regional, social, historical Aspects)
  • Specific features of the Austrian German and the question of a "stylistic coherence"
