Course objectives
The aim is to gain theoretical knowledge of personality and education of people with moderate mental disabilities. Understand able to explain the term mental disability in the context of the current concept of terminology in pedagogy persons mental disabilities. The course is to acquire the current knowledge about the possibilities of education pupils with moderate mental disabilities. Students will be able to present reasoned decision on the inclusion of pupils with moderate mental disabilities into the educational system and to interpret his knowledge of advice and legislation. Upon completion of the course the student will understand the problems of speech development in children with mental disabilities in terms of language levels. Will acquire basic skills in the education of students in the system of education of pupils with mental disabilities and acquire knowledge in the field of augmentative and alternative communication.

Student is able to: - characterize the specifics in the education of pupils with mental disabilities; - bring communication difficulties to pupils with intellectual disabilities; - be familiar with the issue of impaired communication skills.

  • Education of persons with moderate mental disabilities, terminology bases. Legislation relating to school education of pupils with moderate mental disabilities. A circuit pupils with moderate mental retardation (specifics of personality, cognitive processes, variability developmental traits). Consultancy services for pupils with moderate mental disabilities. Pre-school education. Framework educational program for preschool education. Basic School. Framework educational program for the field of education special elementary school. Special Education Diagnostics psychopedická. Didactic principles, methods, forms and means of   education of pupils with moderate learning disabilities, including specific work methods in special elementary school. Position   therapies in the education of students with moderate mental disabilities. High School and lifelong education for people with serious mental. Job opportunities for persons with moderate mental disabilities. Faults speech sound - etiology, classification of facial clefts. Voice disorders - etiology, symptoms, classification. Palatolaly - etiology, symptomatology, classification. Complex interventions provided to individuals with   palatolaly. Fluency disorder. Stuttering - characteristics disability, contemporary views on the etiology of stuttering, symptomatology, classification. Speech intervention provid Ovan individuals with   stuttering. Dysarthria - developmental obtained. Etiology, classification. Speech intervention provided to people with dysarthria     in the context of comprehensive care. Dysphagia - etiology, symptoms, treatment possibilities. Symptomatic speech disorders in children with   movement disorders, speech of children with cerebral palsy (speech development, factors influencing the development of communication skills of children with     cerebral palsy). The principle of the development momentum of speech. Symptomatic speech disorders of children and pupils     with intellectual disabilities. Specifics of speech intervention. Symptomatic speech disorders of children and pupils     with severe visual impairments and speech therapy intervention nevidomostí. Rehabilitation methods used in   logopedic intervention for pupils with mental disabilities   (Orofacial regulatory therapy, Vojta reflex locomotion methods, synergistic reflexology, Myofunkcional therapy, Bobath concept, Petö therapy ...). Augmentative and alternative communication - meaning, characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of AAK. AAK used at     students with mental disabilities. Characteristics of the educational content of the educational field Speech education as defined in the   field of language communication, which is set RVP ZSS.

1. Active attendance at seminars 80% attendance is compulsory. 2. Written exam in the education of students with mental disabilities. To meet the requirements of the necessary 70% correct answers. 3. Oral exam in the education of pupils with impaired communication abilities.
