Course objectives
Students will acquire the skills and practical skills in the area of communication skills development of the hearing impaired With disabilities; Will be orientated in compensatory aids used in rehabilitation of hearing impaired individuals; In the possibilities of reeducation of hearing and speech in children and adults with auditory defects; Learn about text editing options for Readers with hearing impairment and their use in practice. Outputs expected:  the student is familiar with the classification, etiology and symptomatology of hearing impairment;  orientation in diagnostic approaches and methods in working with children with hearing impairment;  Controls therapeutic approaches;  knows the possibilities of interdisciplinary cooperation.
Learning outcomes
The student is oriented in the system of education of children, pupils and students with hearing impairment and problems the employment of people with hearing impairment in the open labor market; it focuses on the choice of adequate communication approaches in schools for the hearing impaired and the mainstream schools educational stream; it is oriented in the legislative regulations relating to the area of education of children and pupils with hearing impairment, as well as counseling and social services for people with hearing disabilities.
Syllabus
  • Main themes (syllabus):  Classification of auditory defects according to different criteria.  Diagnosis of Hearing Defects - Hearing Methods.  Early intervention of individuals with hearing impairment - care system.  Ontogenetic development of speech in children with hearing impairment.  Individual speech therapy in counseling and school facilities for the hearing impaired.  Compensatory and speech therapy aids used in the rehabilitation of hearing impaired individuals.  Hearing Education - Reaction to sound, identification and differentiation of sounds, phonemic hearing, sentence discrimination.  Breathing exercises and voice deductions - conscious voice use, voice hygiene.  Development of visual perception and lax training.  Global reading, interviewing, journaling, reading with and understanding texts for SP.  Voice extraction, fixation and automation of individual voices.  Hearing analysis and synthesis of words, development of vocabulary.  Visual-motor communication systems and their use in practice.

Teaching methods
Theoretical preparation, self-study, fulfillment of assigned tasks during the semester, active participation in teaching, discussion. The student is prepared at a distance by means of adequate study support (distance texts, interactive curriculum ...).

Written exam (70%) and oral exam.
