Course objectives
Learning outcomes of the course unit To teach students to orientate in the problems of graphic design and the basics of professional terminology. Another goal is to teach students the basics of working in a professional bitmap and vector editor. The student understands what is hidden under the design graphic design and computer graphics, as well as the professional and opensource graphics programs. Understand how varies with vector and bitmap graphics. They learn to draw using vector tools. They will master the basics of bitmap graphics and learn to use different graphical formats. They practice the exact drawing and re-drawing of the object according to the pattern. It can use different color systems and mix colors. They will be acquainted with the problems of font construction and also with typographical terminology. He will design a corporate brand while practicing vectorizing the photo and then returning to bitmap graphics. He will practice photo retouching. It will test how to crop and mount photos. They will try their own creative work - graphic design of the design project using the knowledge and skills acquired in each lesson of the subject.

  • • computer graphics, vector graphic programs and bitmap graphic programs
  • • Basic orientation in Adobe Illustrator a Photoshop
  • • Vectors – lines, paths, joins, disconnect, drawing; Bitmaps, sizes, formats, deformation, scan
  • • exact drawing, transformation
  • • Coloured systems, color mixing
  • • Typography
  • • Vectorization – transformation from bitmap to the vectors
  • • Photo retouch; layers, photo clipping
  • • Filters in Photoshop, effects in Illustrator, final individual project
  • • Data exporting to PDF, finishing of final individual project
