Course objectives
The goal of the course is getting information about Russian morphological system. At the end of this course the student will be able to define the grammatical category of nouns and adjectives in contemporary Russian; to compare the functioning of nouns and adjectives in Russian and Czech languages; on the basis of acquired knowledge to form the Russian sentences correctly.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students will be able to work with professional terminology, the knowledge of which is necessary not only for the study of grammar as a system, but also for the subsequent study of individual linguistic disciplines. Students are able to compare the Czech and Russian languages from a morphological point of view, and then evaluate the problem areas that lead to a positive transfer and language interference within both languages.

  • 1. Object and basic concepts of morphology. Parts of speech. Grammatical categories of nouns. 2. Declension of nouns. Nouns first inflection at   sg. 3. The first declension nouns inflection at   pl. 4. The second declension of nouns. 5. Variations in the second declension of nouns. 6. The third declension nouns. 7. Derivation of nouns. Indeclinable nouns. 8. Adjectives and their morphological characteristics. 9. Morphological categories of adjectives. 10. Category of adjectival comparison. 11. Accent and spelling of adjectives. 12. Revision.

Teaching methods
Theoretical preparation for the exam during the study. Linguistic terminology. Student must actively participate in the class, prepare homework regularly.
Assessment methods
Requirements: 1. Regular active participation; homework. 2. Encompassment of final written test (70 % of correct answers is needed to pass).

General note: Pokud se přihlásí méně než 10 studentů, výuka se nebude konat. Studenti mohou chodit do odpovídajících předmětů katedry ruského jazyka a literatury.
